Good Ways To Diet Hassle-Free – News

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Most of us can visualise the way we’d like to live as we progress through our lives. Maybe we see a more prestigious home or a stylish vehicle in our mind’s eye. Most of us see changes to our appearance; a trimmer physique and a transformed wardrobe.

All of these changes are focusing on what we want to have in our lives, and they’re a great place to start when planning the goals we want to achieve. If we don’t have an idea of how things will be when we’ve made it, the chances are we’ll never get there.

But before we can have all these great things, we have to be prepared to make some changes. As Albert Einstein said, “Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.” And so, continue doing what you’re doing right now, and you’ll continue having what you’ve always had.

To have significantly more, we must change the way we think as well as the way we do things. It’s not rocket science to know that there’s going to be a tad of work to do to achieve the things we want to have. We’re familiar with the elementary truth that to get, we first have to give. But doing the work alone won’t necessarily bring the results we want.

We accomplish success by embracing the thoughts and behaviour of a successful person – assuming the characteristics and values of a winner before we’ve actually become one. If the objective is to drop four dress sizes in twelve months, then for a time we have to prioritise an exercise routine and pay attention to what we eat.

Hanging out with friends comes after the work-out’s been completed. The achiever is happy there’ll be plenty more social time down the road (and more admiring glances!) if they put the effort in first. A healthy attitude to dieting makes the slimming process easier, and brings results much faster.

Success can’t come by itself. We’ll get knocks along the way, so a strong mental stance is paramount.

Reading accounts of how achievers survived their journeys to success can help. We come across the same story time after time; their attitude and self-image is what created the results. And so to sum up – If we do our tasks with relish, and be a winner in our minds, we can be assured to have the things we’re working for.

Weight Management Uncovered – Lose 20 Pounds Easily

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

Both my wife Katie and I were desperate to reduce our weight, so we had a little heart to heart about why we wanted to be thinner, and what that would mean to us. It was amazing, but we really didn’t aspire to anything that remarkable. Having more oomph to play with the kids was Katie’s number one goal. She wanted to become more self-assured when undressing in our bedroom too.

As for me, I wanted to be able to walk into a High St store and have the choice of all the guy’s outfits, not just the few boring ones for fat folks! I also had a strong desire to get to the top of the stairs in our home (three floors) and not be out of breath!

Going through this process revealed that how we perceive ourselves is a key factor in how we actually look. Sadly, as we grow bigger, our self-respect dwindles. Lots of us see a happier life ahead if we can just lose weight. I want you to know how much I understand this thought process. Here are some observations…

Over time scientists have discovered that our sub conscious mind stores information, but can’t decipher whether that information is actually ‘real’. It therefore ‘programs’ the conscious element of our brain with anything that occupies it. Process that thought repeatedly, it emerges as its prevailing concept and thus it’s actual truth.

Just how long have we been re-affirming the concept of how fat we are? And so we should re-program our sub conscious with all the things we do want, not all the things we don’t want.

It’s also important to think about all the great things being slimmer will mean. First off we wrote down the things we could start to enjoy when the excess weight had gone. We came up with – Going for walks in the country, flirting, great sex, going for a swim without embarrassment, playing with the kids, fun on the beach, dancing, cycling and greater happiness.

Next we conjured up visions of ourselves on vacation, looking fantastic in our new summer gear. Everyone approved of our good looks. Everything was fantastic!

Accordingly, both of us are a lot lighter and fitter – though not as thin as rakes! By the same token, we’re feeling terrific and life really has become fun!

Tips To Lose Fat Safely – Ideas Considered

Friday, October 16th, 2009

The Business Of Losing Weight Can Be Scary! It’s important to understand that as well as being a concern for millions; dieting is very commercially profitable. The turnover of the weight loss industry is colossal – it amounts to billions of dollars – and so there are plenty of opportunities to profit from our ambitions to be slim.

OK, How Large Has This Got? Whether you personally are obese or not, the chances are you’d be happy to lose some weight. Amazingly, over two-thirds of the US populace are classed as needing weight loss. In other words, 210,000,000… And in fact the figure hovers around 60 per cent in many other places. But we don’t want this to happen!

In Great Britain, it’s estimated that one quarter of the adult population is at least 30-40 pounds overweight. And that’s not the end of it! By 2050 the obesity level could be ninety per cent!

It really does not have to happen though. We’ve got to stop the trend before it’s too late. Sensible dietary advice is the key – not expensive products that line the pockets of big business.

It is commonly understood in medical circles that weight problems lead to other difficulties, including… Liver Disease; High Cholesterol; Osteoarthritis; Cancer; Sleep Apnoea; Type Two Diabetes; High Blood Pressure; Mental Health Problems; Heart Disease; Heart Failure. Weight reduction then isn’t just for cosmetic reasons.

Fat loss isn’t about getting to size zero – you should be aiming for a weight that’s good for your health. The RIGHT weight varies so much between people, but we usually have a fairly good idea of what’s comfortable, and what we can maintain.

Our sons and daughters weight is also important. If we’re being responsible parents, we have to show them with our actions. If we don’t change our habits, we’re destined to suffer. And so will the next generation. Do you really want that burden for your offspring?

And so we really have no choice but to learn the nutritional fundamentals. It’s not complex when you break it down. Once we’ve developed a healthy eating regime that we can comfortably stick with, we can positively impact others as well. In conclusion, we’re not just talking about sorting our own lives out here, we’re talking about shaping the destiny of our future generations.

Outlined – The Best Diets To Lose Weight Naturally

Have you noticed that it’s almost impossible for a week to go by without the press or TV hitting us with shock horror stories about obesity? But when we try to lose weight, we just seem to hit one stumbling block after another. Therefore, you deserve to know something that most people won’t tell you.

Stop Feeling You’re At Fault For Being So Heavy! First things first though: We’re certainly not suggesting that you can’t take corrective action. Just that the truth about weight loss has been kept from you.

It’s not our intention to alarm or offend you – please don’t think that. We’d like you to have access to some life-changing material. That way you can get back to really living again.

Being overweight can be the result of many different things. The thing to realize is it’s time to change – by educating ourselves the RIGHT way. We’re not trapped into a lifetime of obesity.

Let’s compare this to a motor repairer who’s been issued with Toyota tools to work on an Audi A4. Nothing’s the right size!

It’s impossible for a mechanic to do the repairs with the wrong equipment. Having the appropriate tools for the job in hand is VITAL. With the wrong technology, it doesn’t matter how skilled the man is. And so it is with weight reduction. As a result, we’re offering tools that are absolutely fit for the purpose of losing and keeping off weight.

To be honest, none of us are the same. That’s why life is so intriguing. So we need different solutions for different folks. For best results you must be allowed to choose the ‘tool’ that matches your needs.

Our experiences have probably told us that sometimes we find dieting hard, and sometimes effortless. For many of us, keeping busy at work distracts us from thinking about our diet. It can get more difficult when we’re just watching TV. The routines we’ve developed over the years therefore contribute to our eating patterns. The answer is to be better equipped for the job. You require a professional, purpose written program that will lead you to finding ways to adjust your daily routine and successfully manage your weight.

Easy Ways To Lose Weight Now – Updated

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

How are we supposed to know which advice to take about the best way to lose weight? In reality, most pills and slimming products do not work, and most companies are just out to take our money! Here’s what we discovered about weight loss programs when we sorted the wheat from the chaff…

Firstly, we searched for dieticians who weren’t just interested in selling us a repeat purchase item. Authors that could teach us sustainable habits. Expertise, not hype! So a dependence on expensive diet products was out – we simply endeavoured to find solid, practical solutions.

Our favorite chosen systems provide practical, usable knowledge. What they don’t provide are wonder drugs that ‘melt’ the fat away! (We weren’t that naive!)

Our chosen programs have been written by insightful individuals that comprehend the issues associated with obesity. They offer practical guidance and workable instructions on banishing the fat for good. The truths you’ll read about may surprise you. They’ll certainly have a beneficial effect on your health. Your family and close friends will notice the change in you VERY quickly.

The Solution Actually Is Available Then? Very definitely – though it’s not surprising it’s taken so long for you to find it! But there is a program that will change your life – we absolutely promise.

Many of us have struggled with one diet or other for most of our adult lives. Our weight reduces when we first start dieting, then it goes up again the minute we eat normally. Figures show that over 93 percent of weight reduction programs don’t work for us – probably because they’re too punishing to maintain over the long term.

It’s not widely known, but top performing athletes invest a lot of time in nutritional education. Obviously, we don’t all want to be top sports people – but we can benefit from the research that’s gone into what makes our bodies work best. The findings can be utilised by all of us.

But we have to stop putting things off. It’s very rewarding to see visible changes occurring so quickly. But we’ll get no-where if we always put things off. Read the facts now, and have a go! Be pleased with yourself for starting.

Weight Loss Diets Insights – Easily Lose 20 Pounds

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Effective weight loss is about two things – what we eat and how much we exercise. This isn’t always what people want to hear, as many would prefer to avoid doing exercises. However, the benefits out-weigh the negatives. When we exercise we burn up calories and we also build muscle.

In terms of metabolic rates, fat is slow, but muscle is more vigorous. So we need muscle to burn a greater number of calories up more speedily. Individuals with more muscles deplete their calorific intake sooner. We’ll also see an improved body shape and tone when our muscle is developed.

Start by introducing exercises on a gradual basis. One of the best ways to fit more exercise into an already busy life is to incorporate it into things you already do. Avoid taking the lift or escalator – undertake to walk up at least three flights of stairs instead. Deliberately leave your motor some distance from your workplace, and do the last bit on foot. Whenever you take public transport buy a ticket for three quarters of the journey and then walk the rest.

Try to exercise 5 days out of 7. If you do, you’ll soon notice the results – especially if you manage over half-an-hour each session. Maybe vary the exercises on different days. You’ll give yourself a much better chance of sticking with the program then.

It doesn’t have to be a chore to get fit. Join a club so you don’t feel so alone. Go for a walk whenever you get the chance. Doing that alone can bring huge benefits health-wise.

Getting fit means you can reduce your risk of heart problems by fifty percent. Various cancers are less likely also. If we’re fit and active, we’re much less likely to get high blood pressure. A brisk walk each day will protect against depression and anxiety, and help towards a good night’s sleep. So as well as becoming trimmer over time, we’ll also be much fitter.

Pick out some comfortable items to wear when you go walking. Whether it’s cold or hot, always wear layers of clothing for outdoor exercise. You may need a new pair of walking boots. Do test them out as thoroughly as you can in the store. Do not buy shoes that your feet slop around in – only your toes need to be able to move.

When you’re ready to go, give yourself a posture check. Ensure your weight is evenly distributed, with shoulders down and slightly back and your stomach pulled in. Now do a quick warm up so you don’t damage yourself. You can roll your shoulders, first one way and then the other. Follow this by raising your knees a few times. Lastly, take about a minute to march up and down, then set out on your walk.

It’s important to develop a good walking style, so keep your back straight and let any tension go. When you arrive back home at the end of your walk, repeat your warm up in reverse, decreasing the size of your movements. Start with a few fairly short walks, and build up as you go. Brisk walking is generally good for all of us, but if you’re in doubt, consult your doctor first.

Weight Management Outlined – Losing Ten Pounds

We’ve probably all heard about the power of association. There’s a tangible link between the way we behave and the men and women we have friendships with. But we might have thought the similarities would reveal themselves in our attitudes and personal tastes – for instance we often support the same institutions and vote for the same parties as our friends.

Lately though, studies are claiming that we will have more tendency to be overweight if we hang around with others who are overweight. We will eat more when in the company of good friends who eat more. A small study undertaken in America found that overweight kids and teenagers ate more when they were eating with a friend who was also overweight, than when they ate with a normal weight child.

In fact more was eaten by all sizes when in the company of friends. Although the most food of all was eaten when two heavy chums were teamed up. The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported on this research. It illustrated the part friends play in the actions of each other.

Of course, it’s not surprising that many felt they could eat more when they were comfortable with the company they were in. Adults would no doubt have demonstrated the same characteristics. What’s more, as our friends don’t usually challenge what we do, we assume that means they condone our behaviour. We’re inclined to unconsciously monitor our behaviour in relation to their reaction to it.

Young people of all sizes were studied for forty five minutes. They were split into groups of two friends, or groups of two strangers. Then they were presented with a selection of things to pass the time, and food to eat.

The familiar couples put away more food than the unfamiliar ones. But the overweight pairs who were familiar with each other got through the most. And the variations were considerable, as shown below.

The heavier friends together consumed an average of almost 750 cals each. Heavy kids with standard weight chums ate just under 450 cals, and standard weight kids ate approx 500 cals whatever weight their mate was. Similar ‘friendly’ peer pressure is also evident when kids decide whether to start smoking.

In conclusion, the researchers suggested that the kids and teens social networks were mainly determining how much food they ate. Yet this power of association can be beneficial, as positive influences are just as possible as negative ones. Hence the necessity to educate the young.

Diet Pills – Eat And Lose 10 Pounds – News

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

I’ve always had to fight to keep my weight at a reasonable level. I feared that as I reached middle age it would continue to get more difficult. And yet my story has turned our quite differently. Now, I never fear jumping on the scales, as I’m lighter than I was in my thirties.

It’s all about stabilising your blood-sugar level. Late afternoon used to be my low point. So I ate whatever I could find, which generally was highly calorific! All this did was to add to the fat that was already building around my waist.

What’s frightening is that fat also accumulates in the body’s organs like the brain and the heart. Now, I don’t get nearly as hungry or as tired. I also experience fewer flushes and my husband will tell you my moods are more stable too! Oh, and I have fewer sleepless nights.

This transformation has come through eating something small on a very regular basis. I used to miss meals during the day several times a week. Then I’d catch up in the evening, and gorge! This was the worst thing I could do.

I ought to have been taking in modest sized ‘meals’ several times a day. Our metabolic rate peaks around the middle of the day, and slows down rapidly after that. Our important meals then are those eaten before the end of the afternoon – later ones have a tendency to be laid down as fat.

Now each morning I always allow time for breakfast. I don’t keep an ultra close eye on every calorie, I just watch how much I eat at a time. The gut only has a limited capacity it can comfortably take, so I’ve learned not to overfill it.

I restrict the amount of grain I eat, and make lunch my most important meal. By late afternoon, a small snack is now all I need take me through to a small evening meal. Each meal has some protein, and some anti-oxidant rich vegetables.

A balanced diet needs fat, but I mainly eat certain ‘healthy’ fats. Olive oil, seeds, fish oil and a few nuts all give us our essential fatty acids.

Finally my weight has gone down because my alcohol consumption has gone down – I now just drink a glass of dry white wine a couple of times a week. Instead of wine and beer I drink iced tea and mineral water, which is very refreshing. Has it been hard, after all these years? It’s been a lot easier than I imagined actually. Not only has my weight dropped a couple of dress sizes, but I’m more energetic than I’ve been for years!

Current News – Eat And Lose Fat Fast

Friday, October 9th, 2009

Losing weight can be as difficult psychologically as it is physically. It can become a struggle if we have to make family meals; eating our own meagre diet whilst still having to prepare tempting fare for the others. How can we improve our lot, and continue to please the family?

Let’s start with portion sizes – whatever’s on our plate, if we want to lose weight we should eat less. So find yourself a plate that’s about two-thirds the normal size. You won’t feel so deprived, because you can still fill the plate when you serve up. Wait until the rest of your family or friends have started eating before you start. Then slowly savour every mouthful you take. (Not only will this prevent you from finishing much sooner than the rest, it will also leave you feeling more replete.)

Most family meals can be eaten when you’re dieting, if you restrict the amount of fat and carbohydrate on your plate. Make up for it with lots of vegetables. And avoid the temptation of crusty bread! For seconds, think carefully before you indulge yourself. A small baked apple is fine – simply leave out the custard or cream.

But you can get much cannier than that. Serve reduced calorie meals a couple of times a week to everyone – if they’re done well they won’t have a clue! Add garlic and herbs to macaroni, and bulk it out with plenty of veg. Then use a tin of tomatoes to enrich the sauce. Leave out the oil, but maybe add a touch of Greek yoghurt for creaminess.

When you’re shopping for food, always pick out lean cuts of meat. Remember also that fish can be a lower fat alternative. Whatever the rest of your family weigh, it’s still advantageous for them as well to eat lean meat. Roast chicken is a good all-rounder, just make sure you remove any skin and eat breast meat where possible. Select potatoes that have a naturally creamier texture, such as Vivaldi or Maris Piper. Then you can feel fulfilled without loading them with butter.

Whole wheat or oats are the best cereals to buy – and choose ones that don’t have any additional sugar. Leave cereal bars alone too. Even these have far too many calories for the amount of food you’re eating. There are also many ‘hidden’ cals in a lot of drinks. If you drink cola or other sodas, always buy the diet varieties.

Alcohol contains a lot of calories, so when you’re socialising it’s good to find some alternatives. Try drinking tomato juice with ice or spring water. Watered down apple juice makes a passable wine lookalike if you don’t want to be different from the crowd.

It’s obvious that we’re not going to lose weight if we continue as we are. But it’s amazing how a small shift here and there can dramatically help along the way.
