Teeth Whitening Products

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Choosing teeth whitening products from the different teeth whitening products available on the market today can be very confusing. However, some of these teeth whitening products do not give the desired results.

If you were to ask the experts, they would tell you that the best method of teeth whitening is still obtainable through your dentist. Not only is it the best, but it is also the most effective and the quickest way to have whiter teeth.

But then, not everyone can afford the charges that come with such treatment. Another factor that hinders them from going to dentists is fear. It seems that in early childhood, dentists are one of the most feared professions and that children just do not want to have to go to them. This fear goes on into adult life.

Although dentists do not recommend people to choose teeth whitening products, they all agree that most of these products are effective in some degree. According to many studies, most teeth whitening products can result in whiter teeth that can out perform any procedure applied by your dentist, if applied regularly and consistently.

An additional bonus that teeth whitening products have, is that they contain the same ingredients that are used in professional whitening. Two of the active ingredients needed for whitening teeth are hydrogen peroxide and carbamide. These two products are also the ingredients that are present in some of the products that are sold in everyday grocery shops and pharmacies.

The only advantage that teeth whitening products have over professional whitening is that they tend to be very cheap. Everyone who finds out about them can afford to add them to their list of basic shopping things.

Many of these products can be had for under $30. Compare this to the $100 or more that you need to pay at the dentist’s surgery. It will not surprise you that people prefer them to the higher fees. Still, teeth whitening products do have some disadvantages. Some of these are:

1. Suitability. Teeth whitening products cater to all, it is true, but then different people have different needs. What some people found effective may not work for others. This is one of the problems that people will encounter with these ‘home’ products.

There are those who have sensitive teeth and gums. Reaction to the products will depend upon the suitability of the products to the people that are using them. Another option would be to try out different products until you find the one that is suitable to you.

2. Strong Chemicals Used. You will not know what your reaction to any given product will be until you have tried it out. As you do not know how sensitive your teeth are, you will also not know what will happen when you start using the product. It is wiser to consult with your dentist first before selecting any product at all.

3. Tray may not fit. The tray used in your mouth is not exactly right to you, so there is a chance that it may be either too big or too small.

If it is too big, the chemicals may not work very well. On the other hand, if it is too small, it could cause gum bleeding and other side effects that could cause even bigger problems. Be sure that the teeth whitening precuts you select are right for you. If none of them works, then maybe professional teeth whitening would be better for you.

Home Movie Theater Screens

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

When it comes to choosing a screen, the first consideration is the type of screen you want or even need. If the room where you are setting up your home theater is large, then you will have to have a home theater projection screen or maybe you just want one anyway.

I, personally, like the idea of having a drop-down screen, but sometimes you have to have one even in a modestly-sized home movie theater. It would convert your living room into a home movie theater. Imagine: you recline in your chair; click the remote and a screen drops down; click another remote and the lights dim; click another one and the film commences!

If you prefer a television screen, then you might be considering purchasing a new one if you can afford it. They say that a 27 inch screen is big enough, but I do not think that it is. In my opinion, you really need 48-60 inches, but then I am a baby-boomer and my eyes are definitely not what they once were.

If you are purchasing a new TV for your home movie theater, I think you should get the latest model. HDTV is already here and since February 2009 the USA has been committed to High Definition. Therefore, I would make sure that your new television is capable of receiving it. Then I suggest that your new home movie theater screen be a flat one in order to reduce the annoying reflections that could ruin your experience, which could be another reason for choosing a projection screen.

Then you should ensure that the new television has enough input and output sockets for the equipment you plan to use and youre done. So, to summarize, I would go for:

At minimum a 27 inch screen

A flat screen

HDTV compatibility

Sufficient input and output sockets

Satellite enabled

I would definitely recommend satellite compatibility for the TV receiver because it is the future or even the near future. If you get a satellite television connection you will be able to store HDTV downloads which you can watch on your new home movie theater set-up whenever you like.
